Some time ago I wrote about the Pedersen bicycle and how I wanted to get one.
Well last Saturday I did. I bought it from Andrea at Velorution and it took a couple of weeks to come in, the German freighters having gone a bit AWOL for a while, but nothing serious.
It takes a bit of time to get used – especially after the Condor fixie – and one thing you really have to remember is NOT to go forward off the saddle when you stop. Look at the pictures and you’ll twig why immediately.
It’s a very sociable bike, in many senses. People stop and chat to you, admire the bike, and pass the time; you cycle more slowly and have time to look at things, buildings, clouds, people, while all the roadies and office-workers on Trek MTBs hurtle past you.
Oh, and you don’t dress up either. Normal clothes only. Cool.
